It is also employed in household and industrial cleaners as a gentle surfactant that helps disperse oils and stabilize emulsions. In polymer and coatings applications, it can act as an emulsifier and processing aid to stabilize latexes and pigment dispersions in paints, coatings and inks. In adhesives and processing formulations, it can serve as a wetting agent to improve substrate wetting and formulation compatibility.
