Applications
Sodium Palmitoyl Sarcosinate (CAS 4028-10-8) is a mild surfactant derived from sarcosine and palmitic acid, used as a surfactant and emulsifier in cosmetics and personal care products such as cleansers, shampoos and body washes, providing mild cleansing and conditioning properties. It is also employed in household and industrial cleaners as a gentle surfactant that helps disperse oils and stabilize emulsions. In polymer and coatings applications, it can act as an emulsifier and processing aid to stabilize latexes and pigment dispersions in paints, coatings and inks. In adhesives and processing formulations, it can serve as a wetting agent to improve substrate wetting and formulation compatibility. Additionally, as an N-acyl sarcosinate, it may be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other surfactants. Subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
