  • Applications

    Sodium Oxalate (CAS 62-76-0) is a chelating (sequestering) agent commonly used in cleaning formulations and industrial water systems to complex metal ions and prevent scale and color changes caused by metals; it also serves as a chemical synthesis intermediate, supplying oxalate units for oxalic acid and derivatives. In the textile and dyeing sector, it is used as a sequestering agent to improve dye uptake and colorfastness. In water treatment and other industrial applications, it helps control hardness and prevent metal precipitation. In coatings and inks, Sodium Oxalate acts as a stabilizer/complexing agent for pigments and metals. It may also find use in electronics-related plating/etching processes as a metal-ion chelating agent.
