  • Applications

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (CAS 151-21-3) is a common anionic surfactant used as a foaming agent, emulsifier and wetting agent across many formulations. In cosmetics and personal care, it is commonly used in shampoos, body washes and toothpaste to generate foam and stabilize emulsions. In household cleaning products such as dishwashing liquids and laundry detergents, it provides cleaning performance and foaming. In industrial manufacturing, it acts as a surfactant, emulsifier and wetting agent in metal cleaning/degreasing formulations and in polymer processing. In coatings, inks and paints it improves wetting, dispersion and leveling of pigments. In pharmaceuticals it serves as an excipient and solubilizer for poorly soluble drugs. In agricultural formulations it can function as an adjuvant to improve spreading and compatibility of pesticide products.
