Applications
Sodium laureth sulfate (CAS 9004-82-4) is a widely used anionic surfactant and foaming agent that enhances wetting, emulsification and cleaning performance in many formulations. In cosmetics and personal care, it serves as a surfactant and foaming ingredient in shampoos, body washes and toothpaste. In household and industrial cleaners, it is employed in dishwashing liquids, laundry detergents and surface cleaners to improve cleaning performance and foam stability. In coatings, inks and paints, it functions as a wetting agent and emulsifier to aid pigment dispersion and film formation. In polymer and plastics processing, it can act as an emulsifier or surfactant in latex systems and other polymerization processes. In pharmaceutical and topical products, it may serve as an emulsifier or excipient to aid dispersion and texture, within formulation and regulatory limits. It may also be used in agrochemical formulations as a surfactant to improve spray coverage, subject to regional regulations.
