  • Applications

Sodium Gluconate (CAS 527-07-1) is widely used as a chelating (sequestering) agent to bind metal ions such as calcium and magnesium, improving stability and performance in cleaning formulations and detergents, cosmetics, and some food formulations. In metal finishing and electroplating baths it serves as a complexing agent to stabilize metal ions and promote uniform deposition. In concrete and cementitious systems it is used as a set-retarder and a water-reducing additive. In textile processing it helps control metal ions during pretreatment and dyeing. In cosmetics and personal care it functions as a chelating agent to improve formulation stability and color retention. In food processing it is used as a sequestrant to bind trace metals and stabilize ingredients.
