Applications
Sodium Feredetate is used primarily as a strong oxidant and simultaneous coagulant in water and wastewater treatment, oxidizing organic contaminants and promoting the formation of iron hydroxide flocs to aid solids removal; it is also studied and applied as a cleaning and disinfection agent in industrial cleaning and facility sanitation. In the pulp and paper and textile sectors, it can serve as a chlorine-free bleaching agent, offering an alternative to chlorine-based bleaching. In industrial manufacturing, it may be used as an oxidant for selected organic syntheses and may be evaluated as a pretreatment aid for polymer surface processing. It may also support environmental remediation by degrading organic pollutants in soils and groundwater.
