  • Applications

Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate is a versatile anionic surfactant used as a primary or co-surfactant in household and industrial detergents and cleaners to improve soil removal, emulsification and foaming; it is commonly used in cosmetics and personal care formulations as a surfactant and foaming agent; in industrial manufacturing it serves as a degreasing and cleaning additive for process aids and equipment; in paints, coatings and inks it acts as a pigment dispersant and emulsifier, improving stability and spread; in polymerization and plastics processing it can act as an emulsifier or stabilizer in emulsion polymerizations; in textiles it acts as a wetting agent and scouring aid during fiber processing and finishing; and in agriculture it is used as a surfactant adjuvant to improve spray coverage and wetting of agrochemical formulations.
