    Sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate is used primarily as a chelating agent for metal ions in chemical processing and cleaning formulations, helping sequester trace metals and stabilize reactive species; it is also a precursor for the synthesis of other dithiocarbamate compounds used in agrochemicals and specialty polymers. In mining, it functions as a flotation collector for sulfide minerals, aiding ore separation. In plastics and rubber processing, the dithiocarbamate moiety can serve as a processing aid or stabilizer in PVC and related polymers. It may also be used as a building block for dithiocarbamate-based fungicides and related agrochemicals, subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
