  • Applications

Propyl acetate (CAS 109-60-4) is a fast-evaporating, pleasantly fruity ester solvent widely employed in wood and automotive coatings, printing inks, nitrocellulose lacquers, UV-curable finishes, adhesives, aerosol paints, electronic-component cleaners, epoxy and polyester diluents, pharmaceutical extraction media, organic-synthesis intermediates, pear- or banana-like food-flavour additives, fragrance and cosmetic carriers for essential oils, as well as a laboratory solvent standard for chromatographic analysis and boiling-point calibration, meeting low-VOC requirements and offering limited water miscibility yet excellent compatibility with ketones, alcohols and hydrocarbons, thereby enhancing gloss, flow, film build, shortening drying times and extending coating durability.
