Applications
Pramoxine Hydrochloride (CAS 637-58-1) is used as a local anesthetic with antipruritic properties in topical pharmaceutical products (OTC creams, ointments, gels) to relieve itching, burning and discomfort from minor skin irritations, insect bites, and dermatitis; in cosmetics and personal care it serves as a soothing, temporary numbing agent in skin-care formulations and after-sun products; it is also used in hemorrhoidal relief preparations as a topical anesthetic; and it may appear in veterinary topical care formulations for minor irritations as a temporary numbing/soothing agent.
