  • Applications

Potassium molybdate(VI) (CAS 13446-49-6) is primarily used as a micronutrient fertilizer supplying Mo to crops, helping prevent Mo deficiency in legumes and brassicas. In industry, the salt is used as a corrosion-inhibiting additive in cooling-water and boiler systems to protect metal surfaces. It also serves as a Mo-based catalyst precursor for chemical processes, including sulfidized MoS2-catalyzed hydrodesulfurization and other Mo-containing oxidation reactions. Additionally, it may be added to coatings and inks to improve corrosion resistance of metal substrates.
