Applications
Sodium perborate (Perboric acid, sodium salt) is used primarily as an oxidizing, hydrogen-peroxide–releasing bleaching agent in cleaning formulations. It is widely employed in household cleaning formulations, including laundry detergents and automatic dishwashing detergents, to aid stain removal and whitening. It is employed in textile and paper bleaching as a solid, slow-release oxidant. In personal care, it has been used as a whitening/cleansing additive in toothpaste. It also serves as a source of active oxygen in various industrial cleaners and processing formulations, under local regulatory and formulation limits.
