    Pentasodium Pentetate (CAS 140-01-2) is the sodium salt of pentetic acid and serves mainly as a chelating (sequestering) agent to bind trace metal ions, enabling a range of real-world uses across industries: in household detergents and cleaners to soften water and prevent scale formation; in cosmetics and personal care as a stabilizer and chelating agent to inhibit metal-catalyzed oxidation; in industrial cleaning and metal-finishing baths to maintain bath stability and improve deposition by removing residual metal ions; in polymers and plastics as a stabilizer and processing aid to mitigate metal-catalyzed degradation; and in water treatment and cooling systems as a scale inhibitor and corrosion-control additive.
