Applications
Octyl gallate (CAS 1034-01-1) is a phenolic antioxidant and stabilizer used primarily as an antioxidant and oxidative stabilizer in polymers and plastics to limit degradation; it is also used as an antioxidant additive in coatings and inks to improve shelf life and color stability. In cosmetics and personal care, it can function as an antioxidant stabilizer for oil-rich formulations. In household cleaning products, it may act as a stabilizer to extend product stability. In food processing, it may be evaluated for use as an antioxidant in fats and oils, subject to regulatory approvals.
