    N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine is a tertiary amine commonly used as an intermediate to synthesize quaternary ammonium cationic surfactants for cleaning, disinfection, and personal-care applications. It also serves as a feedstock for quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agents used in disinfection and fabric care, and may be used as a solvent or processing aid in organic synthesis and plastic formulations. Additionally, the compound can act as a surfactant and dispersing additive in polymer and adhesive formulations to improve dispersion and stability. It may further be used as a component in corrosion-inhibitor formulations for metalworking fluids and cooling-lubricant systems.
