Applications
Neryl propionate (CAS 105-91-9) is an ester of nerol and propionic acid with a soft sweet orange-blossom and ripe-fruit odour, employed broadly in fragrance creation to enliven top notes and prolong citrus, neroli, jasmine and rose accords in fine perfumes, candles, soaps, detergents and personal-care products, and, as a FEMA GRAS flavour, to enrich foods, beverages, confectionery and dairy items with peach, apricot, plum and fresh citrus facets, round off harsh tones, withstand heat and oxidation, all while meeting IFRA standards; its low odour threshold, good fixative strength and excellent solvent compatibility make it a versatile ingredient for both perfumers and flavourists.
