Applications
Myrtenyl-2-methylbutyrate is a monoterpenic ester with fresh piney, resinous, slightly minty and fruity facets, used primarily as a fragrance ingredient in fine perfumery and consumer products—fougère, chypre, woody–conifer, citrus–herbal accords, body washes, shampoos, soaps, deodorants, fabric softeners, candles, air care and cleaners—to mask harsh notes and deliver clean freshness; it acts as a top-to-heart modifier and soft fixative that improves diffusion and blend cohesion, and pairs well with pinene derivatives, citrus oils, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptol and amber notes; it is also employed as an odor reference/analytical standard in sensory and fragrance research, with use levels guided by IFRA and local regulations.
