It is also employed in household and industrial cleaners to improve wetting, dispersion, and detergent performance; as a surfactant and foam booster, it can enhance formulation performance in a range of cleaning products. In polymer and plastics processing it can function as an emulsifier or compatibility agent, aiding dispersion of additives and pigments. It finds use in coatings and inks formulations as a surfactant to improve pigment wetting and stability. In agriculture, it may be used as a surfactant adjuvant to enhance spreading and penetration of pesticides or foliar sprays.
