    Methyl phosphonous dichloride (CAS 676-83-5) is a reactive chlorophosphite used mainly as an intermediate in the synthesis of organophosphorus compounds. Common applications include the preparation of phosphorus-containing monomers and esters for specialty polymers and flame-retardant formulations, production of phosphorus-containing coatings and inks, and use as a building block in the manufacture of organophosphate pesticides in the agrochemical sector. It is also employed as a precursor for adhesives and sealants that incorporate phosphonate functionality, and may participate in electronics-related materials as a phosphorus-functionalization step, all subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
