Applications
Methyl nadic anhydride (CAS 25134-21-8) is commonly used as a curing agent and reactive monomer for epoxy resins and high-temperature polymers, helping to increase crosslink density and thermal performance. It also serves as a synthetic intermediate for high-temperature polyimide-type resins and specialty coatings. It can act as a dienophile in Diels–Alder reactions to furnish norbornene-based polymers and composite materials. In high-performance coatings and epoxy adhesive formulations, it is used as a crosslinking component. It may be considered for electronics encapsulation/potting to improve thermal stability and dimensional control. Its use is subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
