  • Applications

Methyl isocyanate (CAS 624-83-9) is a key intermediate in polyurethane chemistry, used to produce polyurethane polymers and prepolymers for foams (rigid and flexible), coatings and paints, adhesives and sealants, as well as elastomers and polyurea-based protective coatings. It is also a feedstock for the synthesis of carbamate pesticides in agriculture and related isocyanate derivatives. Applications are subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
