Applications
Methyl 3-(methylthio)propionate (CAS 13532-18-8) is a sulfur-containing ester with a characteristic fruity, champagne-like aroma; it is used as a flavour and fragrance additive in food, beverages, cosmetics and tobacco, and also functions as an intermediate in perfumery and pharmaceutical synthesis, flavour development, studies of fruit-aroma biochemistry and general food-aroma analytical research.
