Applications
Methacryloyloxyethyl phosphate (CAS 52628-03-2) is a polymerizable phosphate ester monomer used to introduce phosphorus-containing functionality into coatings, adhesives and resin polymers. In practice it is employed as a reactive monomer to formulate UV-curable coatings and paints to enhance flame retardancy and enable crosslinking; it serves as a crosslinking/compatibilizing component in phosphate-containing polyacrylates and related networks; it is used in electronic encapsulants and potting materials where flame retardancy is desirable; it can act as an intermediate for synthesizing other phosphorus-containing polymers; and it is suitable for use in inks and other industrial formulations depending on local regulations and formulation limits.
