    Magnesium diphosphate (Mg2P2O7), CAS 13446-24-7, is used as a chemical intermediate and a source of Mg2+ and pyrophosphate in the production of magnesium phosphate ceramics and refractory materials; it can also serve as a functional filler or additive in coatings and inks to enhance thermal stability; in polymer formulations it may act as a flame-retardant additive due to its inorganic phosphate content; in industrial cleaners and water-treatment formulations it may function as a sequestrant/chelating agent; in agriculture, it may be evaluated as a magnesium and phosphate source in specialty fertilizer blends; and in electronics/ceramics it can act as a precursor for phosphate-based glasses or dielectric materials.
