    Longiverbenol (CAS 65556-52-70) is a sesquiterpene alcohol occurring in essential oils (notably vetiver) and is used primarily as a fragrance ingredient for its warm woody/earthy, vetiver-like nuances, strong substantivity, and fixative behavior, finding use in fine fragrances, personal care, soaps, detergents, scented candles, and air-care products; it is also employed as an analytical reference for essential-oil authentication/adulteration studies, as a benchmark in olfactory research and formula development (to tune vetiver, amber, smoky or balsamic facets), as an intermediate to access novel odorants, and in modern fragrance delivery it may be microencapsulated to control release on textiles and consumer materials; commercial use should follow IFRA guidance, concentration limits from safety assessments, and applicable chemical safety and labeling regulations.
