Longi‑beta‑camphenilanaldehyde (CAS 1139‑17‑90) is a terpenoid aldehyde with a fresh woody–camphoraceous odour, used primarily as a fragrance ingredient in fine fragrances, personal care, household cleaners, air fresheners and candles to impart pine‑woody, green freshness and boost diffusion; it also serves as an odour modifier in citrus, mint and herbal accords, a deodorizing/odor‑masking note in hygiene products, and as a synthetic building block for terpenoid derivatives, imines/oximes, and the corresponding alcohols and acids; in research it can be used as an analytical/GC–MS retention reference for aroma studies and investigated in microencapsulation systems to control fragrance release in detergents, with use subject to IFRA guidance and applicable safety regulations.
