  • Applications

Linoleic acid (CAS 60-33-3) is an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid with widespread applications: in food industry it enriches edible oils, margarines and nutraceuticals by supporting lipid metabolism, lowering cholesterol and providing anti-inflammatory benefits; in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics it serves as an emollient, emulsifier and skin-barrier restorer, helping moisturize, soothe acne, moderate dermatitis and accelerate wound healing; in hair care it enhances shine and reduces breakage; in technical chemistry it is esterified to make plasticizers, alkyd resins, quick-drying paints, printing inks, surface coatings, metalworking fluids and biodiesel feedstock, and it is increasingly valued as a renewable building block for biodegradable polymers and other bio-based materials.
