  • Applications

Lignosulfonic acid (CAS 8062-15-5) is a sulfonated lignin derivative obtained from sulfite pulping. In industry it is used as a dispersant and stabilizer for pigments and dyes in coatings and inks; as a binder and processing aid in adhesives and wood composites; as a concrete admixture to improve workability and control set; as a rheology modifier and thickener in paints, cleaners, and other formulations; as a plasticizer or additive in polymer formulations; and in agriculture as a soil conditioner and carrier or slow-release matrix for nutrients.
