Applications
Lauryl methacrylate is a reactive monomer used to synthesize acrylic polymers and copolymers. In coatings and inks, it acts as a soft, hydrophobic comonomer and a reactive diluent for UV-curable and solvent-borne systems, improving flexibility and film formation. In adhesives and sealants, it contributes to flexible, durable acrylic formulations for adhesive bonding and sealant applications. In plastics and polymers, it is used to tailor toughness and low-temperature performance of acrylic resins. It may be considered for cosmetic film-former applications in some formulations, and is also evaluated for packaging materials and protective film applications as appropriate.
