    Jinkohol-II (CAS 86703-03-9) is a characteristic sesquiterpene alcohol from agarwood resin, used primarily as an aroma marker and analytical reference standard in GC–MS/LC–MS for identification, qualitative/quantitative profiling, and provenance authentication; it supports quality control, process standardization for extraction/induction and adulteration detection; it serves as a reference in sensory studies and odor modeling to design oud-type fragrances; it is a model compound for organic synthesis, structure–odor/structure–activity relationship research, and elucidation of sesquiterpene biosynthetic pathways in Aquilaria; it also functions as a chemotaxonomic and forensic marker in trade verification and supply chain monitoring; additionally, it has been explored in vitro for potential bioactivities, but it is not an approved therapeutic agent.
