  • Applications

Hydroxyamine hydrochloride is primarily used as a reagent in organic synthesis, acting as a selective reducing agent and as a convenient source of hydroxylamine for forming oximes from aldehydes or ketones. It is also a precursor for hydroxamic acid derivatives, which are of interest in medicinal chemistry and related chelation/analytical applications. In polymer and coating formulations, it can serve as an aldehyde scavenger by reacting with carbonyl impurities to form oximes and improve formulation stability. The hydrochloride salt form facilitates handling and storage in industrial processes and it may be considered an intermediate for the synthesis of hydroxylamine-containing compounds at scale.
