Applications
Hydrogen Sulfide (CAS 7783-06-4) is used as a key feedstock and intermediary in sulfur chemistry: it participates in sulfur-recovery processes, notably the Claus process, to supply elemental sulfur in oil, gas, and refining operations; it provides a sulfide source for the controlled precipitation of metal sulfides (for example ZnS and related materials) that are used in pigments, catalysts, and semiconductor and photonic applications; it serves as a reagent in organosulfur synthesis to introduce sulfide functionality in various compounds; it is employed as a sulfide source for metal sulfide films in coatings and electronics; and it is used in laboratory-scale syntheses and process development where sulfide chemistry is required. Subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
