  • Applications

Homosalate (CAS 118-56-9) is an organic UV absorber primarily used in cosmetics and personal care to absorb UVB and protect the skin in products such as sunscreens, moisturizers, and makeup. It is used as a UV-absorbing additive in coatings and inks to improve outdoor light stability of surfaces. It is also employed in polymer formulations as a UV absorber stabilizer for plastics and related materials. In industrial manufacturing and formulation development, homosalate may be considered an intermediate and/or solvent component for certain cosmetic systems and related formulations, depending on local regulations and formulation limits. Its use is subject to regulatory and formulation constraints, and no safety claims are made herein.
