  • Applications

Hexyl valerate (CAS 1117-59-5), also known as hexyl pentanoate, is a sweet, fruity ester used primarily in flavors and fragrances: as a flavoring ingredient for beverages, soft drinks, syrups, confectionery and chewing gum, baked goods, dairy products, and alcoholic drinks, contributing apple, pineapple, banana, pear, and tropical nuances; in perfumery, personal care, and household products it imparts bright fruity notes, rounds harsh edges, and serves as a masking/modifying agent in perfumes/air fresheners/candles/shampoos/body washes/soaps/lotions/detergents; it blends well with other fruity esters, aldehydes, and lactones, dissolves in ethanol and oils, is dosed at very low (ppm) levels due to its high odor impact, and is used to build fruit, candy, and floral–fruity accords.
