    Hexyl acrylate (CAS 2499-95-8) is an acrylate ester primarily used as a reactive monomer and reactive diluent in polymer and coating formulations. In industrial manufacturing it serves as a comonomer to prepare acrylic resins and copolymers with other acrylates, imparting flexibility and hydrolytic stability. It is widely used in coatings and inks, especially UV-curable systems, where it acts as a reactive diluent and viscosity modifier to enable rapid cure and smooth film formation. It is also used in acrylate-based adhesives, providing tack and adhesion, and as an intermediate in the synthesis of specialty polymers and functional additives for coatings and plastics. In formulations, hexyl acrylate may also function as a plasticizer or modifier, subject to formulation needs and regulatory constraints.
