Applications
Hexafluoropropylene oxide (CAS 428-59-1) is a fluorinated epoxide mainly used as a building block for the synthesis of fluorinated polymers and PFPEs (perfluoropolyether lubricants), and as a precursor for fluorinated epoxy resins used in coatings, paints, and inks with high chemical and thermal resistance; it is also employed to develop fluorinated surfactants and other surface-active fluorinated derivatives used in surface treatments and polymer processing, and as a component in fluorinated adhesive systems for industrial applications; in electronics, HFPO and its derivatives are used as monomer sources for fluorinated materials with suitable dielectric properties and stability.
