  • Applications

As a key “green leaf” ingredient, cis-3-Hexenyl methyl carbonate (CAS 67633-96-9) is widely used in flavour and fragrance industries to add fresh-cut grass, cucumber, green apple, pear and tropical fruit notes; because it is more stable and softer than cis-3-hexenol, it is preferred in fine perfumes, deodorants, scented candles, air fresheners, household cleaners, detergents, shampoos, lotions, lip balms, chewing gum, beverages, yogurts, sports drinks and tobacco flavours; the molecule is also present in bio-bait and insect attractant formulations; typical dosages are in the ppm range owing to its low odour threshold, enabling manufacturers to build natural “green” freshness, extend flavour longevity, mask off-notes and improve the overall sensory appeal of finished goods.
