Applications
Hederacoside C (CAS 14216-03-6) is a triterpenoid saponin derived from Hedera helix (ivy leaf). In industry it is commonly used as a chemical marker for standardization of ivy leaf extracts in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations; it may also be present as a constituent in ivy leaf-based herbal preparations. Because of its saponin nature, it can function as a surfactant or foaming agent, supporting formulation design in cosmetic and cleaning products; it is also used as an analytical reference compound for saponin chemistry and quality control of botanical extracts. Subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
