  • Applications

Glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride (CAS 3033-77-0) is widely used as a reactive monomer to introduce quaternary ammonium functionality into polymers and resins, enabling the production of cationic polymers for coatings, adhesives, papermaking additives, and water-treatment formulations. The glycidyl (epoxy) group allows incorporation into epoxy systems as a functional crosslinker or reactive diluent, improving adhesion and film properties. It also serves as a building block for cationic surfactants and specialty polymers used in coatings, inks, and cleaner formulations. In papermaking and wastewater treatment, GTMAC-based polymers act as retention and flocculation aids to improve process efficiency. As an intermediate, GTMAC-derived materials are used to tailor positively charged functionalities in adhesives and other specialty resins, subject to formulation limits and local regulations.
