  • Applications

    Glutathione (CAS 70-18-8), a tri-peptide antioxidant, is widely used in cosmetics and personal care as an antioxidant and a stabilizer for formulations; in pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals it is considered a protective antioxidant and may serve as an intermediate in the synthesis of certain compounds; in food processing it is evaluated for use as an antioxidant to inhibit oxidation and preserve color; in industrial manufacturing it can act as a reducing agent and stabilizer in chemical and polymer processing; in bioprocessing and protein chemistry it is used to maintain a reduced environment and assist in disulfide bond handling during protein refolding and storage.
