    γ-Undecalactone (CAS 104-67-6) is a cyclic lactone cherished for its rich, juicy peach aroma; flavourists add it—often in trace amounts—to confectionery, baked goods, yogurts, beverages, canned fruits, ice creams and dairy substitutes to boost ripe peach, apricot, plum, strawberry and mango nuances while imparting creamy sweetness; perfumers use it to round out floral, woody or musky accords with velvety fruit-skin softness and to extend diffusion; it is also incorporated into personal-care products such as lip balms, body lotions and shampoos, in e-cigarette liquids, aromatherapy blends and sensory research as a reference standard, thanks to its very low odour threshold, favourable safety profile and high compatibility with aldehydes, esters, ketones and other long-chain lactones.
