    gamma-Campholenol (CAS 80514-13-2) is a bicyclic monoterpene alcohol with a fresh camphoraceous–pine–herbal odor profile, used mainly in perfumery to introduce and reinforce camphoraceous, piney, herbal and mildly cooling nuances, brighten citrus top notes, build mint/eucalyptus/conifer accords, and round woody–resinous themes across fine fragrance, soaps, shampoos, deodorants, candles and air-care; in flavors and oral-care it is employed at trace levels as a modifier adding minty/woody freshness to chewing gum, lozenges, beverages or mouthwashes (with use levels governed by applicable flavor-safety regulations), and it also serves as a terpene intermediate for synthesizing esters/ethers and other terpenoid derivatives for aroma chemicals, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals; additionally, it is used as a reference/marker in GC–MS profiling of terpene-rich essential oils and as a chiral building block in stereoselective organic synthesis.
