Applications
Furfuryl 3-methylbutanoate (CAS 13678-60-9) is an ester with a warm caramel-honey, roasted almond and ripe fruit odour that finds use as a flavour ingredient in confectionery, beverages, instant coffee, syrups, dairy desserts and chewing gum; as a tobacco casing to deepen cut-leaf notes; as a perfumery and cosmetic additive that enriches sweet gourmand accords, masks solvent harshness and stabilises aldehydic bases; and as a green synthetic intermediate, feed palatability enhancer and reference molecule in olfactory research, all while meeting FEMA GRAS, IFRA and EU trace-level safety limits.
