    Fluometuron (CAS 2164-17-2) is a phenylurea herbicide used in agriculture as a soil-applied pre-emergence treatment to control annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds in susceptible crops such as cotton. It is formulated in emulsifiable concentrates (EC), wettable powders (WP), and granules for field applications, providing residual weed control in treated soils. In crop protection programs, fluometuron is used as part of integrated weed management to delay weed emergence and reduce reliance on post-emergence herbicides. Its use is limited to agricultural weed control and is subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
