Applications
Ethylhexyl isononanoate (CAS 71566-49-9) is a lightweight ester widely used in cosmetics and personal care as an emollient and slip agent in creams, lotions, foundations and lip products; it also serves as a solvent and carrier for fragrance ingredients in perfumery, helping dissolve and deliver aroma compounds with a light feel. Beyond personal care, it is used in coatings, inks and adhesives as a processing aid and softener to improve flow, flexibility and binder compatibility, and in some household cleaning products as a low-volatility solvent that enhances spreadability. In polymer formulations it can act as a processing aid/softener for select plastics.
