Applications
Ethylhexyl ferulate (CAS 391900-25-7) is an ester of ferulic acid. In practice, it is used as an antioxidant and photostabilizer in cosmetic and personal care formulations to protect ingredients from oxidation and light-induced degradation, while helping to improve the durability of formulations containing oils and polymers. It is also employed as a stabilizer/antioxidant in plastics, polymers, coatings, and printing inks to enhance light and thermal stability and oxidative resistance. It serves as a synthetic intermediate for ferulate-derived antioxidants and related ferulate-based stabilizers in chemical and polymer industries. In industrial manufacturing, it may be used as an additive to extend product shelf life and stabilize formulations.
