Applications
Erucamide (CAS 112-84-5) is commonly used as a slip agent and processing aid in plastics and packaging, particularly for polyolefin and PVC films and fibers, to reduce surface friction during extrusion, printing, and handling, and to aid release from equipment. It also serves as an anti-blocking additive in packaging films. In coatings and inks, erucamide can act as a surface lubricant to improve leveling and reduce sticking during application. In adhesive formulations, it may be employed to facilitate processing and release, and in polymer blends it can contribute to processing efficiency and die life.
