    Dodecanoic acid, diester with 1,2,3-propanetriol, commonly known as glyceryl dilaurate, is used as an emollient and surfactant/emulsifier in cosmetics and personal care, improving slip, texture and the stability of oil–water blends. It also serves as a processing aid and a lightweight plasticizer in polymer and coating formulations, aiding flexibility and manufacturability in plastics, adhesives, and paints. In household and cleaning formulations, it can act as a solvent or co-surfactant to aid dispersion of fragrances and actives. It may be used as a lubricating additive or processing aid in industrial manufacturing and, under applicable regulations, as an emulsifier in food processing.
