Applications
Diquat (CAS 2764-72-9) is a fast-acting non-selective contact herbicide used in agriculture to suppress weed populations in crops such as potatoes, sugar beets, and vegetables. It is also employed as a pre-harvest desiccant to speed harvest and improve crop drying. In addition, diquat is used for aquatic weed control in water bodies and irrigation systems, and in non-crop areas such as rights-of-way, industrial sites, and turf and landscape settings where rapid surface weed suppression is desired. Formulation and use are subject to local regulations and label directions.
