Digalloyl trioleate is used primarily as a polyphenolic antioxidant and stabilizer in polymer and coating formulations, helping protect plastics, paints, and inks from oxidative degradation and color fading; it can function as a processing stabilizer for olefin polymers and as a metal-chelating additive to improve aging resistance; in cosmetics and personal care, it may act as an antioxidant and stabilizer in oil-rich formulations; in household products and cleaners it can serve to extend product shelf life by inhibiting oxidation; and it is also employed as an intermediate in organic synthesis for gallic ester derivatives.
